Just Shelved: Recent Reads
The Escape Plan by Katie Bailey - This was the last book in the Only Magic in the Building series, and I was so sad for it to end. Keeley and Beckett’s story was so sweet, and I loved seeing glimpses of the other couples! I highly recommend this entire series! It is one of my top no spice recommendations now!
The Love Haters by Katherine Center - This would be the perfect beach read, as it is set in Key West. It had me laughing out loud and on the edge of my seat while also exploring deeper themes like body image, comparison, grief, forgiveness, and fear. You can hear more of my thoughts in my reading vlog!
Note: It does have infrequent language.
As You Ice It by Emma St. Clair - This is the seventh book in the Appies series, and I am a huge Appies fan. It is a single mom, second chance hockey romance with the best friend group ever. This series is my other top no spice recommendation!
It’s a Love Story by Annabel Monaghan - This is a summery romance set on Long Island. Annabel Monaghan’s writing is so beautiful, and her stories are so captivating! I posted all of my thoughts in my reading vlog.
Note: It does have infrequent language.
The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins - This book got so popular, and I finally picked it up to see what everyone was talking about. I skimmed some sections while others, like the section on friendships, I highlighted a ton. If you are interested, I think it is worth a try!
On My Nightstand: Current Reads
Say You’ll Remember Me by Abby Jimenez - Just for the Summer was one of my top books of 2024, so I have been very excited to pick up her new release this year. I am already about 30% through, and I think it has five star potential so far! I heard some people talking about it being sadder than most romances, and I do feel like that is true. However, I trust Abby Jimenez will still give us a happily ever after!
I’m Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy - After finding out Annabel Monaghan got inspiration for It’s a Love Story from Jennette McCurdy’s memoir, I knew I had to pick it up! I haven’t started yet, but it will be my next non-fiction read!
In the Queue: Upcoming Reads
These are the last two books left on my spring TBR!
Maine Characters by Hannah Orenstein - This book has been described as “Parent Trap for adults” and is set in Maine! It has romance, but I think leans a little more women’s fiction. I have added multiple of her books to my TBR recently, so I think it is time to finally pick one up!
Forever Interrupted by Taylor Jenkins Reid - I have read all of the other standalone books on TJR’s backlist and really enjoyed them, so I wanted to get to this one! This one is a romance but also involved the female main character’s relationship with her mother-in-law, as well as grief.
